Safeguarding

stay safe

Everyone has the right to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. Children, young people and vulnerable adults have the legal right to be protected from harm to enable them to grow and develop in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.

Safeguarding children is everyone's business. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

If a child is in immediate danger, you should contact the police by dialling 999

If you have concerns about a child or young person suffering from harm, neglect or abuse, but believe they are not at immediate risk, call 0121 569 3100
