The Beacon Centre is here to help local people with sight loss live fuller and more independent lives.

We offer a range of services including:

  • Community based activities with everything from rock climbing to canal boat sailing

  • Technology sessions for those who want to learn skills that could make everyday life easier and enable them to stay in touch with family and friends easier.

  • Day services for those who want to get out of their house

  • Tailored health and wellbeing classes in our specalist gym

  • A talking news and magazine service

  • Employment and skills programme

  • Low vision advice, support and equipment.

  • Lifeskills sessions including cooking with confidence courses

  • Art sessions including pottery

  • Respite service

  • There are also residential properties at our Sedgley site.
