St Albans Community Centre

St Albans provides a wide range of services to the local community. We pride ourselves on the warm, welcoming environment, with caring staff, who understand the needs of those who use the services.

Our services include:

Advocacy and Advice: The ‘Caring in a Crisis’ project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and provides a holistic service to clients facing issues such as benefits, benefit appeals, homelessness, housing (re housing, poor housing or overcrowding), care packages and much more.

Open to all Sandwell residents, appointments are offered on a personal, face-to-face basis and are held at St Albans Community Centre. Contact us on 0121 558 0018 to find out more about this free, confidential and impartial service.

Outreach  - working with older adults in their own home to provide gentle exercise, activities and company to promote wellbeing

Pre-School: We admit children between the ages of two to four years old. Our prices are very competitive: three to four year-olds are charged £7 per session unless they are nursery grant funded. Nursery grant funding for three year olds, can be accessed in the term that follows your child’s third birthday. If your child is only two years old they can still attend St Albans Pre-school, however places are limited. The cost is the same as for three to four year-olds: £7 per session.

All staff but one are all NVQ3 qualified and are able to communicate with the children and families in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Polish, French, Romanian, Russian and English.

Elderberry Club: Many elderly people spend their days on their own, which can be incredibly lonely. Whilst some are simply unable to get around, those who can still often find they have no place to go. The St Albans Community Association works with the local community to provide a service that allows these people to meet up, make friends and enjoy a day of activities.

Community Offer: The Sandwell Community Offer was launched in April 2020 and is a partnership of local organisations who deliver wellbeing support services to residents across Sandwell. The service is free to access and referrals are open to everybody aged 18 years and over and includes people with disabilities and long-term conditions, mental health, learning disability and dementia, as well as carers.
