Who we are
We are the leading charity in the West Midlands for people with autism. We use our passion and expertise to enrich the lives of people with autism and those who love and care for them.
Our passionate, expert staff and volunteers work across all age groups and abilities, providing direct support to people with autism.
To provide specialist support and advice to people of all ages with autism and their families, living in the West Midlands, enabling them to meet their full potential.
We have been providing support services to families and individuals with autism for over 30 years including residential homes, supported living and community based supported living which provides support to individuals in their own homes.
What we do
We operate six services across the West Midlands which provide residential care to adults with autism. These homes vary in size from small to large. We believe in the potential of each person, residents in all of our homes are encouraged to take part in leisure and education activities within the community.
Our Community supported Living Service provides specialist support that enables people with autism to maintain independence, develop relationships and learn new skills within the community.
We offer a range of support services to families and carers of children with autism. We help with subjects such as education, transition, rights, emotional needs, behavioural and social strategies, We also provide advice sessions, family activities support groups as well as training for parents and carers.
Our Aspire Team have more than ten years’ experience working with employers and people with autism, and achieved many successful outcomes. We adopt a person centred approach, embrace special interests and adapt to needs.
We offer a range of services to individuals who are seeking a diagnosis, newly diagnosed or coming to terms with their Autism. Services include 1:1 advice sessions, support to understand more about their condition and to meet others with similar experiences’.
Autism West Midlands is committed to providing up-to-date information about autism to people on the spectrum, their families and carers and professionals.
We have an information helpline, we offer community based advice sessions for parents and information and visual resources are available to view online or download.
