CAMHS Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services
The Specialist CAMHS provision in Sandwell offers a range of assessment and treatment services to children, young people (5-18 years) and their families experiencing severe, enduring and complex mental health problems.
An integral part of our service includes consultation and liaison with other agencies involved with children's needs.
In accordance with national models we offer multi-disciplinary teamwork. This currently comprises: - Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy and Social Work Personnel.
CAMHS is a referral service and accept referrals from many different professionals, including GPs, school health nurses, health visitors, and staff members from our partner agencies in Education and the Local Authority.
What happens if you have an emergency?
During working hours, if a mental health emergency involves someone using the service, Specialist CAMHS should be contacted on 0121 612 6620.
Outside of working hours, Sandwell Council run an Emergency Duty Service, whose contact details are 0121-561-3704. This service is for people aged up to 16 and aged 16-18 if in full-time education.
Those aged 16-18 who are not in full time education should get in touch with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team on 0121-543-4100.
