Equipment and Adaptations Service

Assistance is available whether you live in your own home, or rent from a private landlord, the council or a Housing Association.

Equipment such as wheelchairs and walking aids and equipment to help children can be borrowed free of charge, for as long as you need it.  Adaptations are changes to your home such as: replacing a bath with a walk in shower or fitting an over-bath shower, widening doors or installing a ramp so that you can use a wheelchair grab rails by your front door or in the bathroom.

Minor adaptations - items costing under £1000 - can be supplied and installed free of charge.
